The Challenge
Managing water safety across five Blue Cross locations involves more than completing a Legionella Risk Assessment. Each site has its own water systems, assets, control measures, monitoring activity and ongoing compliance requirements.
The requirement was to keep that information connected as the programme moved from risk assessment into day-to-day water safety management. Remote monitoring data, scheduled tasks, technical recommendations and compliance records all needed to form part of the same ongoing process rather than sit separately.
Blue Cross also needed a practical way to turn the information being collected from its water systems into actions that could be managed, reviewed and evidenced across the five locations.
Water safety activity across Burford, Grimsby, Hertford, London Merton and London Victoria.
Five Locations to
Manage
Risk assessments, assets and control measures needed to remain part of one connected record.
Connected Compliance Records
Remote monitoring data needed to support the wider control regime and help inform follow-up activity.

The Solution
LCS created a connected water safety programme across the five Blue Cross locations, bringing together Legionella consultancy, continuous remote monitoring and digital compliance management.
The process starts with LCS carrying out the Legionella Risk Assessment and site survey, identifying the water systems, assets, risks and required control measures. That information is then incorporated into LegionellaDossier, creating the digital foundation for the ongoing water safety programme.
Using the same site information, LCS designs and installs Legionella Watch around the requirements of each location. Monitoring data is then sent directly into LegionellaDossier, allowing remotely collected information to sit alongside the wider compliance record. LCS also provides ongoing Legionella consultancy and advice, reviewing water-system performance and supporting the actions required across the programme.
LCS Risk Assessments and site surveys identify assets, risks and the required control measures.
1
Assess & Structure
Legionella Watch is designed around each site to provide ongoing remote monitoring.
2
Monitor Continuously
Monitoring data feeds into Legionella Dossier alongside tasks, records, recommendations and compliance.
3
Connect & Manage
5 locations | 96 sensors | 222 monitoring streams | 1 connected compliance environment
Connecting Monitoring with
Compliance
Legionella Watch data from the Blue Cross sites is sent directly into LegionellaDossier via API, bringing remote monitoring into the wider compliance environment.
Alongside monitoring data, Blue Cross can manage Risk Assessments, control measures, scheduled tasks, technical recommendations, sampling information and supporting compliance records across its locations.
This creates a more connected view of water safety activity across the estate.

Results &
Impact
Across the five Blue Cross locations, Risk Assessment information, assets, control measures, monitoring data and ongoing compliance activity now form part of one connected water safety process.
The combined approach reduces reliance on disconnected spreadsheets, paper records and manual transfer of monitoring information, while creating a clearer audit trail of the measures being taken to manage water safety.
With remote monitoring, compliance records and ongoing tasks brought together, Blue Cross has greater visibility of water-system performance and can identify exceptions and supporting information more easily across its locations.
For Blue Cross, this connected approach supports water safety compliance while helping maintain safe environments for staff, visitors and the animals in its care.
