Energy Efficient Legionella Control

If you currently use Biocides to disinfect your water LCS can offer you an alternative system that will pay for itself in lower operation costs and energy savings.

Our generators produce the disinfectant liquid Neuthox®, which contains Hypochlorous acid as active agent. Hypochlorous acid or HOCI is a substance naturally occurring in the human body and is therefore harmless.

Hypochlorous acid is the active agent that handles the disinfection when Neuthox® is added to water. All bacteria known to cause diseases in humans are eliminated, including the deadly legionella bacteria.

Neuthox® – The Perfect Solution

A safe and sustainable solution

Salt, water and NEUTHOX® can be used and stored without any safety precautions. No Risks associated with handling of dangerous chemicals, expensive staff training, storage, etc. BPR article 95 listed (EU biocidal products regulation).

A chemical-free solution

Safe and non-toxic handling. No handling of hydrochloric acid or sodium chloride. No use of protective gloves, safety glasses, chemical protective clothing or respiratory protection.

A cost-effective solution

0.6 pence per m³ treated water. One system for handling several injection points simultaneously. Minimum service and maintenance costs.

An energy-efficient solution

Removal of Biofilm not relating to temperature, allowing hot water system temps to be reduced. Heat exchangers work more efficiently with less/no pipework Biofilm. Less energy consumed = less CO2 emissions & lower carbon footprint.

Public Buildings

Public institutions are obliged to provide safe water and are liable for harm caused to consumers, for example by Legionella. A disinfection system that successfully eliminates germs and bacteria is therefore an extremely sensible preventative measure.

Sports Venues

Swimming halls and sports facilities often consume large amounts of water and have extensive piping systems with the water temperature generally lying between 20-40°C. This temperature is also the optimum temperature for the growth of bacteria.

Since these facilities are used by many people daily, and users also frequent the showering facilities where water becomes an aerosol, there is a high risk of illness if a strict water hygiene program is not in place and monitored carefully.

Industry

Many industries have a dual duty of care with water systems and air cooling both requiring efficient bacteriological control. Biofilm which forms inside pipework can affect cooling towers cooling performance, and also reduces heat exchangers heat transfer unnecessarily increasing power consumption to reach required temperatures.

Removal of the biofilm using NEUTHOX® can be achieved without interruptions to business, within a few weeks of using the system. This will have an immediate effect on energy consumption and the option of reducing the condensing temperature of the applied water production can be implemented right away and savings created immediately.

Savings of up to 15% can be made simply by lowering the compressors load.

Agriculture

In Livestock farming, self-contamination in own drinking water is a common known problem, because animals can too suffer from infections. The consequence often is an extensive use of antibiotics which translates into further costs and has a negative environmental impact.

Housing/Residencies

In multi-family homes, the inhabitants often get drinking water and hot water from communal water systems. Property owners, administrators and landlords are obliged to grant tenants access to safe drinking water.
